The church of Christ that meets at South Anchorage is a body of believers committed to learning and living out the New Testament of Jesus Christ. Please let us tell you a little about ourselves.
We take the Bible very seriously and especially the portion of the Bible known as the New Testament, the Last Will and Testament of Jesus Christ. Outside of the teachings revealed in the New Testament, we have no creed, no catechism, and no statement of faith. Our head is Jesus Christ; we report to no synod, council, assembly, headquarters, or manmade organization. We are non-denominational in that we are not a denomination, but we are also pre-denominational in that we try our best to practice Christianity as it was practiced before denominations ever existed.
When you come and visit us on Sunday, you will hear lessons preached from God's book and songs sung without the addition of mechanical musical instruments. Our instruments are our hearts. You will see us memorialize Jesus by eating unleavened bread and drinking grape juice each Sunday, elements which our Lord selected to help us remember His body and blood given for us. You will see us take up a collection from our members to further the spread of the New Testament, the Gospel, the Good News. You will hear us pray.
We would love to have you join us for our periods of study and worship on Sunday or for our Wednesday study where we meet to sing, pray, and study a portion of God's Book. We also have a variety of uplifting and edifying events offered throughout the month in our building and in the homes of our members. Whether you are visiting Alaska or call Alaska your home, we would love to meet you.
Please let us know if we can pray for you or help you in any way. We would love to get to know you. We truly hope that you will come meet us and learn about our glorious God.
